Guest guest
I have been grateful of several replies to my original message, as inspite of my husband sending faxes and letters to my thyroid specialist over a week ago, regarding these abnormal readings, he just didn`t bother to reply. So, of course when you feel poorly, you can`t think straight and wonder why he isn`t bothered. I had been on Armour Thyroid - 3 grains per day - split (2 grains a.m. and the other 1 grain p.m.) as over the years I have found that works better for me, and I was also taking 40 mg of Tertroxin (T3). Travelling back and forth to the warmer climate of Spain every month, I found that I did`nt need the extra 1 grain at night as I started with overdose effects ( diarrhoea, shaking inside, headaches).I have now decreased the T3 to Nil per day, due to the high reading of 12.03 in a range of (2.8 - 7.1)and upped the Armour to the original of 2 grains a.m. and the 1 grain evening. Over the past 2 days I am feeling a little better. We eventually tracked the thyroid specialist down and saw him yesterday. He wasn`t unduly bothered about the readings and said what I had done was o.k. I just wished I could have spoken to him whilst in panic, and in bed feeling so ill with the virus infection - it would have saved my husband driving for a total of 4 and a half hours and £90 fee plus petrol. It makes you wonder if D.I.Y thyroid management is always preferable! - Viv
