Guest guest
You're gonna have to figure out how to live with the fact that your school chums do not know as much as your doctors and dentists -- and if push comes to shove, to tell your friends that! It is hard for many people, because so many folks have no comprehension of this surgery, nor of the problems it can prevent/solve. There are quite a few folks in the UK on the board -- I'm in Alabama - - but I don't know about York... Seems to me Kat may have been from York, but I could be confusing it. In any case, just figure out that your pals are ignorant (I hope they are not being intentionally cruel). Maybe it's sort of like the folks who want to tell pregnant ladies horror stories about labor and delivery, I dunno. I do think these procedures are fairly new, and not as well known as, say, rhinoplasty or appendectomies or the like. And we're here for you. That helped me a lot. Take care, Cammie > hey, its me Amy again. just wondering if there's anyone in the uk > having it done. my surgeons name is Mr P Whitfield - does anyone have > him or has anyone had him before?!!? i'll be having the op in York is > there anyone in the area who is in the same position as me > please reply!!!!!!!!!! loads of my mates at school are really putting > me off and sayin that i shouldn't have it done - what should i do? i > am really worried even though its 2 years away but from september > (the final decision) i can't go back!
