Hey, Devon. I totally relate to what your saying about the fungus

settling in your sinuses. I ended up VERY sick from that. I found

something that has worked wonders for me, though. I noticed a big

difference when I started taking olive leaf and using olive leaf nasal

spray. I also had a prescription anti-fungal nasal spray that I used

before that helped (I think it was called Sporanox). But if you can't

get that, the olive leaf spray works wonders. You can find these at

www.seagateproducts.com. Also get yourself a good quality probiotic if

you haven't already. Nature's Way Primadophilus is a good one, my

favorite is Dr. Ohhirra's - I have had great results from that one.

As far as the sugar, cutting it out really does make a difference, also

cutting out white flour. When I eat too much sugar or white flour I

can feel the mucus in the back of my throat (I know - gross!). I also

start getting sinus pain - not to mention the GI symptoms. I know it's

hard but you do get to the point where you don't crave it as much. I

got some stevia and a recipe book for recipes using that to make

sweets. It's not the same as sugar, but you get used to it and it

makes you feel like you're eating something sweet, so it curbs the

craving. I've also started drinking herbal tea every day. That helps

with the cravings and is good for you, too.

Like with anything, going cold turkey is hard. It might be easier for

you to just " wean " yourself. If you're drinking sodas, just stop that

for now. Then cut out some other sweet your eating, then another and

so on. While you're doing that - add in some alternatives like stuff

sweetened w/stevia or some dark chocolate (the 75% cocoa ones taste

good and the cocoa is good for you). Eventually you will feel better

and get the " pay off " from cutting out all that sugar and it will help

motivate you.

Oh - another thing that helps me is I figured out that 4 grams of sugar

= 1 tsp. So I always check the labels - if it says 10 grams of sugar

per serving I know I may as well be putting more than 2 tsp of sugar in

my mouth. That really puts it into perspective. That's really helped

me keep my kids from overdoing the sugar, too. :o)

Hope this helps!
