Guest guest
Hey all.. i have been reading posts regarding time required off work to heal properly and to rest.. so i spoke with my boss (owner and very selfish man), and let him know exactly what days i would be taking off for my recovery time (mind you surgeon going to give me 6 weeks off), he said since i am in the position i am (HR manager), i would only be able to have 7 days off and 2 half days.. of course you could imagine how mad i was.. but you see he is aware that i am a single mom and really need my job.. and the jerk uses that to his advantage... i do talk alot on the phone with employees and such, my fear is that i will really screw something up post-op by talking so much.. does anyone have any advice on how to deal with a " dick " of a boss??? thanks for hearing me out... Guest guest
One question.... If you're the HR manager, don't you know what your RIGHTS are about the surgery? If so, try showing him chapter and verse. (Or do you not have any rights, or written policies about such things. Surely if you had heart back or surgery or broke a leg he could not dictate when you'd be recovered.) Just wondering. Here there are written policies, and I am way more fortunate than are you with my bosses. Guest guest
I thought FMLA covered situations like this? --Neil > > Hey all.. i have been reading posts regarding time required off > work > > to heal properly and to rest.. so i spoke with my boss (owner and > > very selfish man), and let him know exactly what days i would be > > taking off for my recovery time (mind you surgeon going to give me > 6 > > weeks off), he said since i am in the position i am (HR manager), i > > would only be able to have 7 days off and 2 half days.. of course > you > > could imagine how mad i was.. but you see he is aware that i am a > > single mom and really need my job.. and the jerk uses that to his > > advantage... > > > > i do talk alot on the phone with employees and such, my fear is > that > > i will really screw something up post-op by talking so much.. > > > > does anyone have any advice on how to deal with a " dick " of a > boss??? > > > > thanks for hearing me out... Guest guest
Thanks to all the advice... the FMLA does apply and i ahve looked into all my options.. just dealing with all the pre-op stress, finding help once i've had surgery, conviencing my ex-husband to taking my son for two-weeks, i mean its a ton of stress, and to hear my boss be such a jerk, it really got me a bit down today.. i will bounce back and be fine, i mean i havent had surgery, not until 8/14, if it is a long process of recovery, i WILL take all time needed and suggested by my OS.. i have decided that.. so i just wanted to say thanks to you all for allowing me to vent about my " dick " of a boss.... boy oh boy, you could only imagine... Thanks > > > I like the way you put that DICK OF A BOSS - in that case tell > him > > to back off or you will put your foot up his as- LOL. > > > Maybe he is just trying to intimidate you because he thinks he > has > > the advantage.
