Guest guest
P.S. And the beans. That whole store thing – that was all to get the lower fat/lower calorie beans. Also, a checklist. We need to have a checklist for when we are doing everything we know to do but still are having these " problems " to be sure we aren't over looking anything. And to go with that, a list of ideas to get us off the plateau and back in the loosers field. If you all would – take a gander and add anything you can come up with and I'll put this somewhere, maybe in the files section so we can take a peek now and again. Maybe if anyone has any great inspirational one liners that would be good too. My favorite – which came from a member here: NOTHING TAISTS AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS. That, and there is a picture in my album in the photo section – called never give up…you just HAVE to see it. I had it printed and on my fridge for a long time. It's a pretty good descriptive picture of how I feel sometimes with this whole weight loss issue. Ok the lists: Please add anything you can think of. Checklist. 1- Are you drinking your water? (your body weight divided by 2 = number of ounces to drink) 2- Are you eating enough calories to keep your metabolism up? (Check your BMR. Ask Ang if you need your numbers – remembering that the numbers change with age, weight etc.) 3- Are you eating too many calories? 4- Are you watching the fat and sugar in your diet? 5- Are you getting enough fiber? 6- Are you giving your body the nutrients it needs to function properly? 7- Are you getting enough exercise? 8- Are you drinking too much caffeine? 9- Are you eating too much salt or drink alcohol that would cause water retention? 10- Maybe it's just the scale….did you try a different one? (LOL) But seriously, I do. 11- You're not eating fried or greasy foods right? 12- Remember that letting your body maintain at a new lower weight is a good thing, as frustrating as it may be. True, after several months, your probably as ready to move on as I now am. 13- 14- 15- Things to do to get off the plateau: 1- Mix up your exercise routine. 2- Check above list to see if anything you are or aren't doing may be causing the problem. 3- Go to WLB, gripe, complain, let it all out so that emotional eating doesn't come into play during your frustrations. 4- If your on a very strict (PROPPER) calorie intake, every now and again, eating a splurge of calories (Several 100 extra in a day) can boost the bodies drive to burn them and get you going again. Check your attitude. Positive attitude makes positive results. 5- Check measurements. If you are eating properly and exercising, you may be gaining muscle (a good thing) and although the scale may be the same or going up, you may be loosing inches. 6- (Husbands secret) – eat hot sauce and spicy foods to help increase metabolism….this really works well for him, I don't like it nor does my acid reflux – so I haven't tried it. 7- DON'T give up. Some times our bodies just become stubborn and what we are doing is fine, it is just holding out to see if it can trick us into falling off the wagon – I really believe this to be true. Don't panic till months have went by – and if you are maintaining – know it's still a success. 8- 9- 10- 11- Ang
