Guest guest
I was diagnosed with IgAN two weeks ago. This is so new to me and my family and we have absolutely no idea what to expect. When they put me in the hospital they didn't know what was going on. My creatnine went up to 5.2 while I was in the hospital, but for the last couple of weeks has stayed around 3.0 - 3.2. My biggest fear is that it came on so quickly. I had labs drawn a month prior to my diagnosis and everything was fine. One month later everything went crazy. High amounts of protein uria, high blood pressure, sugar probelms due to the Prednisone, GFR 17, kidney function at 15-20%. Anyone had anything like this happen so quickly? One month ago I was fine, now it seems as if some days I can barely put one foot in front of the other. Doctor keeps saying to do a much as I feel like. Trying to get back to work, but some days it seems almost impossible. I'm wondering is this is normal or if I can hope for some improvement? At this point I still feel confused as to what exactly has happened. I keep hearing about diet, but my neph hasn't approached this yet. They still want to see how much kidney function I'm going to get back. Any insite anyone has is greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening.
