My friend is just now getting depression post pregnancy, her baby is 4

months old. She wants to take some medicine for it but is very concerned

since she is breastfeeding. Is there any site on the internet that lists

the names of depression medicines that are ok for you take while

breastfeeding. She wants to make sure she requests one that is really ok to

take. Thanks in advance... >>

I know that the others will give you some great sight and advice. They did

for me when I was going through this. I just wanted to let you know that I

AM taking Celexa. It has been a wonderful help and my baby hasn't seemed to

be affected by it.

Anti-depressants in order of preference are Zoloft, Paxil...and Prozac and

is among the least preferred. I know that Celexa is also safe as I did some

research on it (for a member of this list I think).

You can go to Dr. Hale's website (author of Medications and Mother's Milk)

and read his Q & A board. Don't be put off if the tone is harsh; he gets a

bit irritated when the same question is asked a zillion times and the

archives are available for searching. :)http://neonatal.ttuhsc.edu/lact/

Thank you. I will pass the name of that one along with the others. I

really feel for her - she is just sooo stressed and upset all the time right

now and I know something would really help her out.
