Arlington area members

The Eastern Star had a retirement home in Arlington until last year. It was sold but the person who bought it is donating it to be used as a shelter. Anyone who is in the area and wants to donate to the refugee cause here is the email I received. If you would like to bring items there let me know and I will get directions for you. (They may be on the website already)

Hank was called to head up another shelter here in town today. They are expecting 2500 more people here today but you can't get any reliable information.

The man who bought the OES property is allowing Arlington to clean it up for shelter of displaced persons from Katrina. A large group has been here all day volunteering. This should be a big help once it is in order. Thought you might want to get this out. A really good thing. Love, Nell (our Grand Secretary)From our Webmaster:Just visited with a volunteer coordinator at the Home. He indicates that they have about 100 beds ready to go for the refugees. They have been cleaning and have the infirmary, the kitchen and some floors ready to go. The fire and health department has closed off several area, but has given them the ok on others. They will be working there tomorrow and the rest of the week. They are looking at opening the home later in the week.
