Guest guest
-------------- Original message -------------- From: "Barb & Glenn" honedu@... This response is only for me. I have CD but not DH. Trudy Hi Silly Yaks, For those of you who have celiac or gluten intolerance and NOT DH, I would really appreciate your input on the subject of personal products such as shampoo, conditioner, skin care, make up, etc. Please answer the following questions: 1. What do you do as far as shampoo, conditioner, hair care products? Do you only use GF products? Do you use products containing oats? * I use products with gluten in them. I'm not sure about the oats, but my shampoo and conditioner both have wheat protein. Since I was only recently diagnosed, I don't know what I will do next time I buy these products. I only use either Aveda or Origins, so they definitely list the source of all their products. My favorite Aveda shampoo is GF, so I might switch back to it. I haven't really decided whether I think I need GF beauty products. 2. What do you do as far as skin care products such as cleanser and lotions? Do you only use GF products? Do you use products containing oats? * I've honestly never looked. 3. What do you do about makeup, face powder, eye makeup, blush, etc. OTHER THAN LIPSTICK? Do you only use GF products? Do you use products containing oats? * I don't pay any attention to whether there is gluten in my makeup. Although that may change as I buy new things. Please also state whether your responses apply to the entire family or just the person with celiac disease. I will summarize your answers and share the info with you. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer the above for me. Barbara in Missouri

Guest guest
I am responded to this, but stating the fact that I haven't been diagnosed with DH, but do seem to have problems with products with gluten in. I don't get a normal DH reaction, but have a terrible itching and little red acne like bumps. Hi Silly Yaks, For those of you who have celiac or gluten intolerance and NOT DH, I would really appreciate your input on the subject of personal products such as shampoo, conditioner, skin care, make up, etc. Please answer the following questions: 1. What do you do as far as shampoo, conditioner, hair care products? I use Pantene purity I believe it's called and Garnier Fructis conditioner. Do you only use GF products? YES Do you use products containing oats? NO 2. What do you do as far as skin care products such as cleanser and lotions? I use Vaseline Advanced Therapy lotion and Oil of Olay products for all face cleansing and such. I use Dove body wash for soap. Do you only use GF products? YES Do you use products containing oats? NO 3. What do you do about makeup, face powder, eye makeup, blush, etc. OTHER THAN LIPSTICK? Kay and a few other random eye shadows. Do you only use GF products? YES Do you use products containing oats? NO Please also state whether your responses apply to the entire family or just the person with celiac disease. The responses are just for me, but I try to keep my household stuff all gluten free, even my husband's shower stuff. I feel that if you can taste or smell some sort of fragrance, you are ingesting it, so I am pretty diligent about that.
Guest guest
I am the only celiac in the household. My answers are the same for all the questions. I have never paid any attention to personal products, except lipsticks/chapsticks. I have always just used name brands. And I switch it up quite frequently. Currently, Fructis shampoo, Dove lotion, & sephora make- up. i dont even know if these have gluten in them. I have used aveeno lotion (oats) in the past with no reactions. Growing up, my parents never paid attention to the ingredients in the shampoo they bought for me either. no reactions! > > Hi Silly Yaks, > > For those of you who have celiac or gluten intolerance and NOT DH, I would really appreciate your input on the subject of personal products such as shampoo, conditioner, skin care, make up, etc. > > Please answer the following questions: > > 1.
