Guest guest
Hi, wrote she was worried about her girls loosing weight. Might I suggest that you make your own Ice Cream? If you go on www.eaglebrand.com and look for their Ice Cream recipes they have listed, you will find some great ones. A lot of them you can make without an Ice Cream freezer. They will give you the recipe, and then say you can use the refrigerator-freezer method. All you have to do is mix them and put them in a Rubbermaid or Tupperware container. I usually let it freeze overnight and the next day I put a layer of wax paper inside on top of the Ice Cream to keep it from getting ice crystals. Most of them have whipping cream so they would be getting more of the fat they need, plus no preservatives and the recipes are better then any you buy in the stores! I do have a Cuisinart Ice Cream freezer that you put the bowl in the freezer compartment and when you are ready to make Ice Cream you take it out and mix it up. It's pretty simple, but most of the time I use the refrigerator-freezer method because I don't have a lot of extra room in my motorhome freezer. The Cuisinart bowl has some sort of liquid between the two thickness of metal and that's what is used to freeze the Ice Cream. You don't have to mess with salt, just put the ingredients in the bowl and turn it on. It cost about $50.00 when I bought it. You can eat the Ice Cream right away if you use that method. It's soft, but then you can freeze the rest of it. Let's face it, when you make Ice Cream you want it now!! Another good feature in using the machine method is that you can make more at one time, which you might need when you have kids. By the way, if anyone likes Coffee Ice Cream, I have the most wonderful recipe made with the Eagle Brand Condensed Milk. It isn't in their recipe file, I found it someplace else, and I use the refrigerator-freezer method. Have any of you used Lamore Lipstick? I bought it one year at the California State Fair and I really like it. I've been using it for quite some time along with other brands and thought I wouldn't be able to buy it again after we started traveling around. I went online the other night and found their web site. So, I emailed them asking if their lipsticks had gluten in them. I didn't think they did because I've never had any trouble using their product. The lipsticks have aloe and Vit E (maybe from soy, but I don't know for sure). They e-mailed me and said, "No Gluten." Their lipsticks cost $9.00, but you can order a sample of them for $24.00. They are small tubes of all their colors, and it gives you a chance to try the different ones to find out the colors you like without spending a fortune. When I bought mine I think it was six small tubes. They now have gloss lipstick which is new. If anyone is interested their web site is www.lamorecosmetics.com. I also have trouble with my lips peeling and burning from lipsticks, and I haven't noticed anything with Lamore Lipsticks. Shez asked if I would share the recipe I made with corn tortillas if it was also dairy free. Unfortunately, it isn't dairy free, but if anyone is interested, I would be happy to share it, and Shez if you can substitute something in place of the cottage cheese and Sharp Cheddar in the recipe, I'll post it. Just let me know if your still interested. Donna S.
