Thank you for the other hints. I immediatley printed your message and will put it in my file with the hotel confirmation, Google maps to get there, local church addresses, and the like. :-) Thank you! When I leave home with my son (we're both celiac) I always have at least 24 hours worth of food in the carry-on bag. I didn't have our usual stash on our flight home from a trip in November, bought my son a cup of cocoa at the Minneapolis airport, it had gluten in it (cookie crumbs) and he threw up all over the place on the last leg of the flight home. Won't ever make THAT mistake again. (and yes, I did ask lots of question about the cocoa, and ordered it without cookie crumbs - but the server goofed and I couldn't see them under the whipped cream) Maureen
Guest guest
Esther, Ukrop's is definitely a good grocery chain for you. Check out their website and you'll find a GF list. You'll be very close to burg. There's lots of restaurants in burg, as its a tourist-mecca. There's an Outback, I know. (Of course, given the kids, perhaps that's not something you're looking for!) If you're going to be in Colonial burg, I've had good luck at one of the taverns (can't recall the name of it!) by ordering a fruit plate, salad, etc. They were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I've never visited town proper. I hope that you enjoy your trip. I know the food adds an undesired level of stress to any outing...
