Guest guest
Trackgal1, It has been a problem for me with minocycline and getting yeast infections. I found a way to control it though and has worked for a couple months now. After being on antibiotics for a while I noticed I always get the yeast infection at the same time of the month right before my period. So one week before my period now I cut back on the antibiotics to every other day and depending how I am doing I go every 3rd day. Then once I get my period I go back go every day or every other day again. I realized this when I saw other people in the room saying they got there yeast infection back again in a month. So I started tracking when I got one and realized it was the same every month. I also take acidophilus not sure if that is helping I think it is more the cutting back on minocycline at the right time.

Guest guest
, This is not about itching, but antibiotics. Have you ever used tetracycline for rosacea? If so, were yeast infections a problem? (To or other females): Would minocycline be less likely than tetracycline to cause yeast? Thanks, trackgal1 > > Chante, > Taking antibiotics has helped my itching alot. I take minocycline. > My forhead itches really bad unless i'm taking it. Guest guest
Do you ever get to get Off antibiotics or do you have to stay on them forever? Do they ever cure anyone in here? Are there success stories who don't come in here I wonder? Chantel
Guest guest
Thanks to and others who have e-mailed me privately. I use acidophilous and eat plain, nonfat yogurt too, but the yeast always seems to catch up with me. One person (in a private post) said that minocycline is a form of tetracycline. This may be so, but I still wonder if it's less a of yeast inciter. trackgal1 > > Trackgal1, > It has been a problem for me with minocycline and getting > yeast infections. Guest guest
Chantel: Most people on this board will tell you that different things work for different people -- a lot more honest than many docs! Antibiotics seem to help a lot of people a lot of the time, but they have downsides and ought to be used as little as possible. I've used tetracycline in the summer for periods of only 2 weeks at a time, and only 500 mg a day (250 mg X2), and gotten great results, though no permanent cure. However, my rosacea has been bad ONLY in summer, relatively quiet in winter ... UP TILL NOW. With a current winter flareup, I'm now contemplating going back on them for a short period once again. There's no way to tell if a treatment will work for you till you try it, though some treatments appear to be better than others. trackgal1 > Do you ever get to get Off antibiotics or do you have to stay on them > forever?
