I don't believe the subject has come up on this list, probably because there are so few male group members (and maybe because the men are less inclined than we are, to discuss all their bodily functions and personal and sexual issues ;-) .... for a quotation from a nuclear med text book on this subject, see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Thyca/message/21825 As far as I know, RAI doesn't impact women's fertility in any way, but it DOES have an impact on men's fertility, so between your RAI treatment and your wife's health issues, her gynecologist was very wise to make that recommendation.
