Guest guest
Hey, i first just wanted to let everyone know who were interested about those wires that i saw in my X-ray around my back molar on the bottom are Permanent! YAY!! thank god.. Now.. this is the part that sucks: I'm 2 weeks post op.. doing great... pretty much eating anything! I'm shoving anything into a blender... even just pureeing stuff to make it uh.. " pre-chewed " ....as long as its swallowable i shove it on the baby spoon or fork and shove it in and swallow..pasta, rice thingies, scrambled eggs... anything and its been great.. Havnt really lost any weight!.. BUT NOW.... I went to the surgeon today and got banded.. it sucks.. i cant take them off.. So i'm digressing to a liqiud diet.. (at least for the week) so it really sucks cuz i was so used to EATING!!! AND now i'm in horrible pain.. BUT... my teeth appear to be in the correct place now!! so thats the good part.. I mean, they moved soo much in 4 hours!! I'm assuming thats why i have such horrible pain.. I really dont know how people who are wired shut can manage.. i look up to you all.. you guys are the true heros! Well, i'm sorry to whine and complain to you all and i feel bad wasting your time, but i had to get it out.. You guys dont have to respond to this message, just wanted to let eveyone who was interested know where i'm at in my surgery days.. Thanks for listening ~Becca
Guest guest
becca, I'm sorry. The good news is usually tempered by the bad... or vice versa. The good news is that you will manage to get through it, even when you think you won't. And I would wager that the pain from the bands will ease off in a day or two. It sounds as though you're so tightly banded that you can't open your mouth, and that must be miserable. But it will come to an end, and your guy has given you a suggestion about when. If, as I think I'm remembering, you've hit big snaggles with United Health... I dunno much about the company. I know that United Health of Florida does not want to pay my surgeon enough money to make the surgery do-able by him. (We're near the panhandle.) Do ask for your surgeon's help with the appeal, if you have not already. And with Blue Cross, you can request an appeal to a panel of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, which helped immeasurably with a non-ortho denial for something that truly was medical in my case. Good wishes to you, and meantime, remember the blender!
