Guest guest
Dean posted my test results from Genova (Feb '06 & Nov '06) last week. I got my results from King Labs on Thursday when visiting my MD. The test was taken the same day as Genova's. Does anyone want to take a peek at the last tests and give me your opinion on what you see? My MD put me on some Lithium since all three tests have shown that the levels are not detectible. I am also on Cortef now for adrenal insufficiency. When Chelating I tanked! I was on a glandular but that obviously was not enough. Someone told me that they could see from my Feb Test that I had adrenal fatigue and thyroid issues. Is that still evident? My test is here: http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/healingnetwork/hairtest.html 36a, b & c. B. This is surprising since the Ca and Mg on the King test are quite a bit higher than the Genova test, so that suggests the King test is the unwashed one. But Na and K are slightly lower on the King , so that is inconsistent. Perhaps there are other differences in the procedures of the two labs that would explain this. > I think all three of your tests show an " all low " presentation > and counting rule 1 is met. I tried digestive enzymes w/ pancreatic enzymes and the same thing happened (different brand and both combined). It is important to start with a very small dose of HCl. Also, with adrenal fatigue, your stomach lining could be pretty compromised and you may need to heal that before you can tolerate more acid. Might want to look into DGL, slippery elm or other stomach healing supps. > I am not sure if the uranium is really meaningful on a Genova > test. It came from the Radioactive Iodine treatments I received for thyroid cancer. I am using homeopathy for it now - custom formula. Interesting. Does your MD believe you are mercury toxic, too, or is uranium considered to be your primary toxin? > Your selenium is at a toxic level on the Feb Genova test and > reduced on the Nov Genova test. This adds to the confusion about hair washing. I would expect if the selenium was different on the two tests, that it would be higher on the unwashed test. It is higher on the King Test. Not sure what to make of this. > The Feb Genova test has a possible mild adrenal sign, but I have no > guideline as to how far apart they should be to be significant on > a Genova test. We just couldn't seem to get me over the hump of fatigue and hypo symptoms. My hair test didn't show the adrenal sign either, yet I had bad adrenal fatigue at the time. This indicator seems to catch some people, but not others. > The K/Ca ratio is low on both Genova tests and the King test, > consistent with hypothyroid. My FT3 was WAY over the top of the range so I suspect it was circulating but not getting into the cells due to low cortisol. I am hoping the HC fixes this problem. I have cut back my armour to 4 grains to try to avoid a thyroid dump. I may up my dose again when I feel confident that I will not get hyper symptoms. Makes sense. I hope the HC helps. > As for the hair samples they were taken at exactly the same time. I took a cut and then split it in half and put 1/2 on one card and 1/2 on another. According to Genova's guidlines I had to use baby shampoo for 2 weeks prior to the test and use no products (hairsprays, mouuse, etc) for those two weeks as well. I have never used dandruff shampoo. That's good to know. So the Nov Genova and King results are in fact based on the same hair. It appears they must have quite different procedures, even beyond the washing/not washing, to explain the different results. > That's what I can see on these tests. Hope it's helpful. > > <<SB>> - Yes it does thank you for taking the time. > > Have you noticed a benefit from the lithium? > > <<SB>> - No not really. I have only been on it for 1 week. I have a lot of female hormone issues so that may override the Lithium for moods. Could be. Have you tried progesterone cream? Many women find it calming and helpful with PMS-related issues, although I do not, so it is certainly not for everyone. Copper reduction can sometimes help with hormone-related mood issues, too. --
