I sent my email to the general email at the website. I was looking at all the info about them. They sent me an email refering me to the Toluca Lake site (closest to me) and said it would be $225 for the eval. If there is a farther away office that would have a free eval I'd drive. Anyone know? I'm in the LA area.

Which CT did you email? Sometimes the licensed centers charged but I thought it was applied to the cost of a band (at the very least). I'm confused. Kiersten had a free eval in the Charlotte office. I know in CA there is a licensed center and regular center. Some folks I think have driven to the further away regular center for the eval and then ended up at the licensed center for treatment. The Shriners actually do not offer cranial orthosis - I know very suprising considering their specialty in orthotics.

And even after the eval they would need a drs script for the band. I thought I read on here that the evals were free, No? Where was that? Also, does anyone have any helpful tips on where to go to get an unbiased eval with a ped or specialist that wouldn't be so spendy? Do Childrens or Shriners hospitals have a sliding scale or anything. Does anyone know where I might find that kind of finacial help? I want so desparately for my dd to get help - with 4 other kids we just don't have the cash righ now - kwim? > If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great!

If it's any help, we got Kaiser-Northern California to pay for our band. Our paediatrician referred us to a plastic surgeon and then the plastic surgeon wrote a prescription for us. We then took it to the nearest STARscan facility as that is what Kaiser covered. Northern and Southern California Kaiser might have different policies but perhaps it will help if you mention our success up here.

Thanks Molly! I can barely get Kaiser to acknowledge her problem. Luckily, they didn't clue in the PT yet and she agreed with me so I know I'm not insane and I am seeing what I think I am seeing. That is why I am trying toget an independent opinion - seperate from kaiser - so I can get measurments or a report or something to show them, KWIM? They keep giving me this pat answer of "It will resolve by her 1st b-day" but I'm too afraid to wait that long - I think by then it will be too late or the treatment will take so much longer!

Thanks again!!
