Guest guest
B, Welcome aboard. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that you will find the same support here that we have. Your experience is so recent, and I am glad that your doctor made you take some time off. My ep was in October 2000, and they didn't do metho (they had to remove the tube and attempt to repair the other one), so I don't have much information about that, but I know that a lot of the women here have been down that road and will be happy to share. How encouraging that your doctor is talking about ttc soon! It doesn't take away the pain of what has happened, but does give you something positive in the future to look toward. Take care of yourself. Maggie

Guest guest
B., Please accept my sympathy for your loss I, too was treated with methotrexate. Twice actually - on 2/21 and 2/28. I never received a D & C though. I am still anxiously awaiting a normal hcg level. Last Monday, it was 39. I don't have yesterday's results yet. From what I understand, it can take longer to drop as it gets lower, but I think the average time is 6 weeks. They will check your level on Day 4 and Day 7 to make sure it is dropping appropriately. If not, you will get a 2nd treatment, most likely. Once it is dropping the way they want, it will be tested once weekly. I did experience quite a bit of pain afterward for several days. It got better, but I still had some pain up until last week. It felt like everything in me was bruised. My dr. told me to go back to work the next day - big mistake! I was in so much pain. It is good that you're able to take some time off. My question for everyone is - my temp FINALLY dropped this AM - what does this mean???? Does it mean I'm going to have a period now? (I can't believe there's anything left to have a period with!!) Or am I going to start a normal cycle???? - hang in there. This can get very stressful and it is SO helpful to have the people here who have been through this to talk to. Terri --- mags wrote: > B, > > Welcome aboard. I am so sorry for your loss. Guest guest
B, I am so sorry for your loss. Going through an ep is so devastating! I hope you will find the comfort and support here that I have. I have been married for 2 1/2 years. DH and I decided to ttc last summer. We were thrilled when I got pg right away in 9/00. Sadly, we lost our baby to a very early mc. At Thanksgiving we found out we were pg again. At my 6 1/2 week u/s, nothing could be found in the uterus. My numbers weren't going up like they should either, so we did one more HCG and my numbers had started to fall. We knew it was abnormal. On 12/9/00 I went in for a D & C. No pg tissue was in the uterus, so I opted for Metho. The highest number I had was 404. In one week, my numbers went from 387 to 12. They were negative a couple of days later. Everyone is different though. There are some women who have suffered months getting their HCG to go down. We wanted to ttc as quickly as possible. After I got af in early January, I had my HSG. I highly recommend it. It has to be performed with 5 days of finishing af. They inject dye through your tubes and take Xrays to see if there is any scarring, blockage or abnormalities. Luckily, I had none of those. We started ttc that month and I am now 11 1/2 weeks pg. There are so many success stories here! There is hope! Please know we are always here for you and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Take care and I'll be praying your numbers are negative very soon! Welcome to the group...I hope you will feel at home here! Guest guest
B, Welcome to the group. I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have a very caring dh. Hopefully we will be able to help you through this difficult time...we have all been there and know exactly how it feels, so please share whatever you want to with us. I had surgery 9/00 and have my left tube removed so I haven't had any personal exposure to metho, but a number of the ladies here have and I'm sure they will give you their insight. I do beleive though that with HCG #'s that low, you should reach 0 in a relatively short period of time. I think the reason your dr said you can ttc as soon as you get af is because I don't think you will see af until your numbers get to negative (I could be wrong on this though...). If you want to have the condition of your tubes checked, have you considered a HSG...where they run dye through your tubes to make sure they are clear? It may give you ease your mind some when you are ready to ttc again. Take care of yourself. I will keep you in my prayers. -AmyR
Guest guest
B Welcome. I am sorry for your loss but I am glad you found this group. The girls here are knowledgeable and supportive. It's just nice to know that there are people out there that know what you are going through. I find friends and family just don't understand. I found out I was pg (our first time) in the beginning of Nov. 00 and started bleeding and cramping the end of Nov. Dr gave me metho. inj but ended up having ep rupture and have er surgery and removed rt tube. It still hard sometimes but I hope you find some comfort here. I think finding this group has kept me from going insane and all the success stories gives me hope. I will say a prayer for you and dh. I am so glad he was there thoughout everything for you. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
B, Welcome and I am glad you had the courage to write to us. I am sooo sorry for your loss. You will find wonderful, support, understanding and love here....Without these women I would have lost my mind months ago!! I had an ep in august of 2000. It was my first pg and took me almost 2 years to get pg. I lost my right tube. Almost 5 months to the day later in Jan I had a m/c... but the good news is that it only took 2 months to get pg that time, the egg jumped from the side without the tube to my only tube and it was uterine pg.... There are lots of women here who are pg now and have been were you are.... share with us whatever you want and I promise you , you will feel better... lisa r T.T.F.N.
