What is the difference between bands and helmets?

I was just wondering if/what the differences are between bands and

helmets. I hear so many people calling them bands but our orthotic

calls the Starband a helmet so is there a difference? And how do

I know if Isabelle is in an active helmet or a passive one? Also is

there a big difference between DOC bands and Star bands? I saw on

another website that this lady started out with a Star band and said

she had problems right from the start with the fitting and everything

and her child was in it for I believe 4 months and it did nothing for

her and then they went to the DOC band and she loved it. I hope that

the Star bands are ok because that's what Isabelle is getting.
