What an amusing website -- it DOES make you wonder about some of those

treatments. And I am enjoying your sense of humor, especially the previous

post about looking for your eyes. I teach at a school for the blind, and

one of the oldest tricks is for a kid to pop out their prosthetic eye just

to get out of class. You have to send them to the infirmary -- they're

standing their with a prosthesis in their hand!

Maybe its just me, but how would vibrations do anything but bad for rosacea?

Any kind of vibration is a bad thing, it just increases the blood flow. As

you said it yourself, increased blood circulation. This can't be good for

rosacea, and I don't know how it could be better than photoderm, which

actually removes damaged vessels insteaded of agitating them like this. I'd

be very cautious about this whole procedure, sounds really bad for rosacea

if you ask me.

Hi--

Thanks for presenting this new treatment to the group.

Please keep us all posted on your progress--perhaps

others of us may be able to benefit from this option

as you have. May also ask: What kind of results are

you having? Is it decreasing your redness and

flushing, papules and/or acne component, skin texture

(i.e., the sebaceous hyperplasia or " orange peel look "

we all love so much :) ? And what kind of down time or

post-procedure side effects do you experience?

Thanks much for offering us another wonderful

treatment option...

// how would vibrations do anything but bad for rosacea? //

I agree that if the main problem is damaged vessels, the best solution is to

destroy the damaged vessels. This worked in my case. I wish the supersonic

facial user the best of luck however.

Just wondering about the increased circulation, and if there might be a

possibility of it actually helping. It seems that the blood pools in my

cheeks when flaring. I'm wondering if increasing circulation (or, more

accurately - increasing the blood vessels' ability to circulate) would help

the blood to flow OUT of our faces, instead of getting trapped in our

defective blood vessels?

Hi

You would probably be surprised at modern ultrasonic techniques. It is

possible to get energy densities of several hundred watts per sq cm from

some units. Some are used to weld plastic parts together. Check out

www.ultrasonic-energy.com

It will give you an idea of the power that can be achieved with ultrasonic

devices.

It may, therefore, be possible to destroy small veins using a properly

designed piece of equipment.

I wonder if you could have a point...I have poor circulation and walking fast

on the treadmill (not running) helps. My skin looks alot better also. I

plan on making more time this year to be more consistent about hitting the

gym...
