Guest guest
Sure! One day my mom was baking cookies for my niece's wedding shower... and I didn't realize that if flour was in the air it was making its way into my digestive system. It took less than 24 hours for me to be tired that it was difficult to lift my hands and legs. Mom was so worried that she wanted to take me to the ER. My fatique sets in rather quick and I take days to recover. Excess fluid.. I also get a rash... and a ton of other symptoms follow. Once I was gluten free for a few months... any accidental ingestion of gluten hits me like a ton of bricks. Even a trace of gluten will trigger a reaction in 20 minutes.-- Carol M Heppner www.carolheppner.comScrapbooking Techniques: INKING (Sterling/Chapelle) 2006Making Memory Jewelry (Sterling/Chapelle) 2006

Guest guest
Man...that's really terrible. I'm sorry it hits you so hard. And it makes me wonder if I'd be better off just returning to a regular non-gluten free diet. I mean, I was getting kindof used to the okay days and the really tired days and was just learning how to structure my day around it. I've never been so tired that others were that worried about me. I also tend to moniter my tiredness around my menstral cycle, therefore I think in terms months. Last month, before my diagnosis, I felt really good. My thyroid levels were good and I wasn't draggy and sleepy. But this entire month, on the gluten-free diet, I have been tired the whole time. This past week was a bit better, but now I'm a few days from my period so the whole cycle starts again. If I don't feel better I'm going to go to a doctor that knows how to moniter hormone levels to see if there are some answers there Thanks for answering.Carol Heppner wrote: Sure! Guest guest
A really bad glutening will flare up my arthritis especially in my knees and also cause fatigue for me and feeling really sluggish and forgetful (as well as some of the gut symptoms). :-) in VA Non-gastro gluten reactions I was wondering if any of you get a reaction to gluten that is not in your gut? I accidentally ate the wrong soup last night and just now realized it. Prior to going back and re-reading the label, I noticed that my legs felt a bit achy and tired, which made me wonder what I ate ( the muscle fatigue and general tiredness is the only symptom I've had for years. I was just starting to get ab discomfort at the time of my biopsy, and that was on and off). I'm wondering if gluten can act on your intestine so fast that symptoms like muscle fatigue would show. It kind of doesn't make since to me that it would, because I would think that muscle fatigue would be a result of vitamin deficiency, and I don't see how one exposure could cause vitamin deficiency. What are your experiences? (Sorry if this was sent twice...I thought I sent it a while ago, but it hasn't shown up) - Yahoo! Autos. Looking for a sweet ride? Guest guest
Can anyone tell me - my daughter has been gf for quite a while now and is managing the diet well. If she has some gluten accidentally, is her reaction likely to be the same as it was prior to being GF, or would it possibly be worse? Just curious to know if anyone else has any experience with this? Note: forwarded message attached. Find your next car at Yahoo! Guest guest
This will differ from person to person. For me it depends on what the source of the accidental gluten was. Flour will give me the same reactions i had as a child... vomiting, & irritability. but on the other hand, soy sauce will react at the other end. this was not a symptom i had prior to diagnosis. Also, if i only ingest a tiny amount, I will most likely just end up with stomach ache or painful, twisting gut, and maybe slightly irritable, but no vomiting or the other. But who doesnt get irritable when they dont feel good! So depending on the source and the amount, my reactions vary. Thankfully it doesnt happen often, but as many of us know it does happen. Many people will not react as harshly after letting their body heal on the GF diet. Whereas other will have worst reactions when their body recognizes the 'poison'. It all depends on the individual. You wont know how your daughter will react again until it unfortunately happens, and hopefully it won't. ~ > > Can anyone tell me - my daughter has been gf for quite a while now and is managing the diet well. Guest guest
Hi , Sometimes yahoo!groups is experiencing a lot of traffic, and it may take a few minutes (sometimes longer) for your messages to appear. They do not appear instantly. Even as the moderator/list owner of this site, my messages are sometimes delayed a bit. Hope this helps... it seems like I may have seen this same message of yours three times now... or maybe it's just Friday afternoon and I'm ready for a nice glass of vino. Guest guest
If you have been conclusively diagnosed with celiac disease it would be very harmful to your long term health to return to a diet containing gluten. Dangers mentioned at the celiac conference include risk for cancer and other scary stuff... Not sure what your situation is, but I wanted to mention this because it was something I was unaware of until I attended the conference. (Though since my reaction is very strong I am not tempted to cheat anyway). > Man...that's really terrible. I'm sorry it hits you so hard. Guest guest
Hello, mine's not in my gut at all, i get DH, foggy headed, really BAD chest pains that feel like they start in my back and travel up to the side of my face when i swallow (already had numerous tests and they can't find anyhthing like ulcers, muscle problems or heart problems) and REALLY tired and almost can't breathe if i try to exercise afterwards. the chest pains miraculuosly go away as long as i avoid gluten. very rarely i get a mild stomach ache, but nothing worse in that category. hope this helps > > In <20060120154708.85423.qmail@w...>, on 01/20/06 > at 07:47 AM, wendy pandolfo <pandolfo@r...> typed: > > >I was wondering if any of you get a reaction to gluten that is not in > >your gut? > > MJ (the celiac in the house) gets DH. > > -- > n : jt@j... http://jt-mj.net > In the beautiful Finger Lakes Wine Country of New York State! > -- -- > Hex dump: Where witches put used curses... >
