Guest guest
Hi and thanks to everyone for preparing me and Sophie for her Scan today. It was amazing. I layed her on a machine that looks like a photocopier and in 2 seconds they had a complete 3-d image of her head on the computer. They then email the digital images to the STAR fabrication place and we pick up our STARband next week. It was really, really cool. They do another scan halfway through and an exit scan. THe orthotist said he has been making helmets since 1979 ... I guess that's good! I'll let you know how it all goes ... Thanks again. I really appreciate this board! - Mom to Zach 5 Ali 3 Sophie 5 months ... about to get the STARband

Guest guest
Glad it went so well. We went through Hanger where they have a handheld scanner, and I know that was pretty cool too. Good luck with the fitting and keep us updated. Sounds like your Ortho has a lot of experience. That's great! Guest guest
, I am so happy that the scan went well and Sophie will be on her way to treatment in no time. I recomend reading the files on getting a good fit and helping baby adjust to the band while you wait for it to come in. I love that you will have a scan halfway through and again at exit. It will make it so much easier to track her progress. Let us know when you go for the fitting. As most members here know, I love to compile all the research I can on plagio and it's related conditions in an effort to help others and if you wouldn't mind I would love to know what type of helmets the orthotist was using in 1979, the farthest dating I can find on the helmets is a helmet made by Dr Clarren in the 80's. Maybe he was manufacturing his own? If you are able to find out I would appreciate it so much.
