I have never heard that before, either. We went with the STARband because the Ortho was 5 minutes from our house and had the qualifications and after interviewing him we felt at peace about it. CT is 3 hours away one way. I had a close friend take her son to CT in Chicago because he had some major things going on with his head and it is what their Dr. recommended. My son had severe facial asymmetry. He received complete correction in his DOC Band. DD had mild asymmetry but was banded at an older age. Her asymmetry now is 0 mm too.
