Guest guest
<<Up till now, rosacea flushing has been triggered only by sunlight/hot weather, and never before has it been associated with increased BP.>> Could your flushing have worsened somewhat, so as to be set off by elevated BP? Increased BP in the flushing zones might now be the final straw needed to provoke a flush? Just a guess. Have you tried clonidine? It reduces BP and has anti-flushing properties as well. Are you familiar with the organization Public Citizen? They monitor Rx drugs, and in their book, " Best Pills, Worst Pills " (which I recommend), they list clonidine in their category " Do not use " because they consider it a dangerous drug. Of course, this is not the last word, but it implies caution. trackgal
Guest guest
Hi I've taken 4 dixarit (Clonidine) tablets daily for the last two and a half years and have noticed no side effects at all. As far as I'm aware it is a very safe drug to use for rosacea and many people take it without problems. I personally found it very effective in reducing the flushing attacks I was getting. At the end of the day you have to make your own decision whether you want to take drugs balanced against how much your rosacea is messing up your life. > > > I've used clonidine -- it didn't work particularly well for my BP, > though it kept the rosacea down. Guest guest
Hello, I am taking Inderal which is a blood pressure medication but one of the side effects they discovered that was good is it helps with migraines. I take it for the migraine headaches. It is also a beta-blocker and seems to help with stress alot which has always made my rosacea worse. I used to get very hot from stress and my whole face and head and pretty much my body would just feel hot all over. Since I have taken Inderal I haven't had that happen once in the last 3 months. Things that used to really stress me out before now I don't get nervous about. It's kindof silly but it makes me feel more confident because I know I can go into a situation and not feel nervous. So I feel it helps my rosacea because it has been at it's worst when I was under alot of stress.

Guest guest
, I know there are loads of people using clonidine with good results and few side effects. However, it can be a dangerous drug for some, andin particular, has a nasty rebound effect for many. As you say, you make your own decision, but caution should be part of that decision when it comes to many drugs. trackgal > Hi > > I've taken 4 dixarit (Clonidine) tablets daily for the last two and a half > years and have noticed no side effects at all.
