Guest guest
My boyfriend/baby's dady agrees that our son should have the band and he can see the plagio. Alot of our family members claim they can't see it even though it is diagnosed as moderate to severe. We have gotten in alot of fights about the plagio/helmets. Fights that I know we wouldn't be having if it wasn't for the plagio. It is a great strain on our relationship. We are doing better now that the band fits properly though. At one point I had a huge melt down and I said I wasn't making anymore phone calls or talking to any more doctors, nurses, receptionists or anybody. My boyfriend picked up where I left of and set everything up (my dad helped too even though he claims he can't see it, go figure)Over all I would say that he supports the band and he feels that it is working. I still can't beleive that MY baby has to wear one. I guess kids are unpredictable. P.S. : I have boy/girl twins too. Our daugter does not have plagio or tort which our son has. At the end of my pregnacy I carried my son breach and daugter head down. I think my son's head was crammed under my ribs which may have something to do with the tort and plagio. I am curious how you were carrying at the end of your pregnancy. I hope that is not too personal a question. If it is just ignore me and I apologize. Guest guest
Mine was just the opposite. I was very stubbornly resistant to the idea, though I knew it was the right thing. My husband, on the other hand, was very open to what needed to be done, though given the choice, eh would have opted out of plagio on the whole. But nope... he was the rational one and I was... well... emotional. , mom of Ashlyn, almost 9 mo., DOC since 11/22 From: Plagiocephaly [mailto:Plagiocephaly ] On Behalf Of mommy2Antnalex@...Sent: Wednesday, January 11, 2006 5:23 PMPlagiocephaly Subject: husbands/boyfriends How did your husband/boyfriend feel about the helmets? Guest guest
My dh has been pretty much 100% for the idea of getting our dd a helmet. It has been really hard for me, I look at our baby girl and just see a perfectly happy little girl. Our dd is 10 months old today and she's been wearing a STARband for about 3 good days now. We're very proud of her, she's been a trooper about it. It's really hard to accept that there is a problem with your child but if it is something that can be corrected fairly easily and painfree it should be done. Our dd's case is moderate, 7mm asymetrical. We're looking to get 3-4mm correction and we were told that she will have to wear the helmet for 3-4 months. It seems like a long time to me now, now that we just started it but everyone says after it's done it will feel like nothing. I hope! I guess I'm lucky to have a dh that is for this process, it would make it so much harder if he wasn't. I wish all of you luck. Camerin Lorelei (STARband 1/5/06) > > Mine was just the opposite. Guest guest
Hi Camerin. I know how hard can be... I look at my baby and he is very happy and alert and laughing all the time ..and i realise that he will probably need to wear the helmet and i get scared that something might be going wrong and i feel like my heart is brokinh. I keep on thinking..how come i didn't realise i have to turn his head while he was sleeping? How could i be so stupid? Because of me my child has to suffer. I hope that his doctor will call us soon to tell us what to do next ..from where to get the helmet and everything we need to know and do. Andra > > > > Mine was just the opposite.
