Guest guest
1) After years iof being on Armour generic thyroid, it seems as thought I have become intolerant of it, and to be more precise, my heart rate would go up and bang around from the slightest moving around...I suspect probably the T-4. Based on a post of Andy's that was kind enough to forward, I took the lead about how T4 makes the heart go " thumpity-thump " and slowly finished weaning off of the Armour and switched over to straight T3. As I reduced the Armour and increased the straight T3, I seemed to gradually feel better until I was just on T3 alone. With just the T3 alone, I was doing better for a short period, but after a little while, my adrenals got fried once again, so I had to quit it and have now been trying to get back on the Armour, and once again have added 10 mg of prednisolone to my regimen...only the same thing is happening. In years past, I used to be able to pop several grains of the stuff with no problem...never had to much worry about weaning up or anything, but now that I went over 1/2 grain, the rapid heart beat is returning and is especially noticeable in the mornings while still in bed. Here is the interesting thing: on straight T3, my temps are quite close to normal, whereas on Armour, no matter how much or little I take, my temps are always considerably low. Comments? ---------- 2) Also, does mercury additionally cause low body temperatures apart from low thyroid, or is it the low thyroid effect that causes the low body temperatures, which are then in turn attributed to the mercury toxicity? Thanks, Inga

At one point, I was completely off the corticosteroids and seemed okay and was virtually allergy free. Food allergies are back, and I have had several " attacks " , and maybe even a panic attack ...or that may have been adrenal crisis. At times, I am having trouble breathing (feels like weakness too) and can not exert myself one little bit. For some reason, when this happens, taking a hot shower helps to bring me back, even though my body temps have not been that low.. Although I have not had any glucose test strips on hand to confirm, I also feel hypoglycemic quite frequently ~inga > ... " my adrenals got fried again.... Guest guest
> With just the T3 alone, I was doing better for a short period, but > after a little while, my adrenals got fried once again, This is what happened with me on cytomel. Things settled down when I switched to the sustained release T3. I still don't understand how you can taper off things so quickly. I am sensitive to slight fluctuations of dose of both the thyroid meds and cortef. I always have to taper slowly and never get very far..... I haven't been measuring my temperatures but found that I was tolerating cold temperature very well (on just T3 and cortef) until I overheated last summer and everything went out of whack again. Now I'm having trouble tolerating cold temps (but I'm still out driving in blizzards and digging cars out of snow banks, just not liking it much). I used to be able to pop several > grains of the stuff with no problem...never had to much worry about > weaning up or anything, but now that I went over 1/2 grain, the > >rapid > heart beat is returning Maybe your T4 is adequate now and it is just the T3 that is having dificulty getting made or transported to where it is needed. Just a thought. The reason I dropped T4 ( very gradually tapering off!) was because I have trouble with the rapid heart beat too. In my case I think some of it is due to adrenaline surges with insufficient cortisol. Cortisol does settle it down for me. I haven't had any trouble with breathing difficulty. But you DID have trouble breathing? Yesterday, I was trying to stay calm and relaxed...thinkin I might have panic disorder and I found myself breathing very slowly and deeply tryng to get through the day. Today, I finally took more HC on top of the 2.5 mg predniolsone and am coming back around again. Does this sound like I have jsut plumetted into major adrenal fatigue, ? Of all, people, I think you might recognize the symptoms... Could be....I am really almost afraid to take any T4 anymore.....maybe just 1/2 grain would suffice. I never had so much trouble before a couple of years ago...just took my 2 grains and nary a problem...actually, it didn't seem to do much for me either. Hard to figure this all out. , are you still on large doses of HC? That is what i was trying to avoid, as it seems a lit of my troubles began as I began raising the Armour and taking HC. I lost all sort of muscle, my heart started pounding and it was pretty terrible. I was so glad to be off the steroids and Thanks, tings via email: Switch delivery to Daily Digest | Sw

Guest guest
Hi Inga, So sorry to hear you are having such troubles! Do you think it might have anything to do with the EDTA you used for your heart condition? Just a thought. Couple other comments below. I hope you get this figured out!------Jackie T> In frequent-dose-chelation , Ingrid Mager-Renault wrote: > > I haven't been measuring my temperatures but found that I was > tolerating cold temperature very well (on just T3 and cortef) until I > overheated last summer and everything went out of whack again. When I stand up to walk, it just feels like theres barely anything there, energy-wise. I think it is adrenal though, because I've just been through another stressful period over Thanksgiving, and it seems each of those stressful times whacks my adrenals again. And I finished a long round of chelation on Monday, and of course have felt worse since.-------Jackie > > I used to be able to pop several > > grains of the stuff with no problem...never had to much worry about > > weaning up or anything, but now that I went over 1/2 grain, the > > >rapid > > heart beat is returning > > Maybe your T4 is adequate now and it is just the T3 that is having > dificulty getting made or transported to where it is needed. Becoming more and more anxious, heart pounding, etc. Not sure if I ever had an actual panic attack, but I would say anxiety attacks. I knew nothing about adrenals and HC back then. But with the physical trauma/stress and emotional stress I have had this fall, I seem to be having more anxiety again, and I do believe it is adrenal now, because I seem to need much more cortisol than I did this summer. And I have tried stress dosing some days, and it seems that some days I get it right and it helps alot, and other days I don't get it just right. It's such a guessing game! So I would suggest you try some HC to see if it helps, especially since you already have experience with it. And maybe you have tried weaning yourself off of it totally too soon? I think adrenal fatigue may be a factor and there may be other factors as well. Were you less stressed when you tapered off the cortef and more stressed lately? I have heard of people who wean off of cortef but still use it for stress and for infection. Emotional stress really seems to do a number on the adrenals when they are weak. I was really surprised how much Isocort I could take after a very emotionally upsetting week. IMR>>>>NOt sure if it is actually breathing difficulty...just feels like it..... I think adrenal fatigue may be a factor and there may be other factors as well. IMR>>>>Today I added another 2.5 mg of prednisolone and am feeling better yet....not great, but much better. For some odd reason, hot showers have been very helpful in making me feel better....seems to some how relax and open up the lungs or something...can't quite put my finger on it, except that I took about 7 showers yesterday, LOL. Then, in the middle of the night, even thogh I took some predniolosne right before gong to bed, about 2 hours later I woke up feelng badly, and my oral temp was down to 96.2, even though I felt warm and jsut crawled out of a toasty down bed. Two hot showers brought it back up into the 97.? ranges.... ----------------- Were you less stressed when you tapered off the cortef and more stressed lately? I fought a good part of the year to keep my husband form being sent to prison and send him to a rehab instead. and they still gave him a 4 year sentence for DUI, and he didn't hurt anybody or damage anything, sigh. That is a lot of stress in and of itself...then when I got back up here to Idaho (where I currently live) for the second tme this year, it alwasy feels so stressful to be up here becasue there is nobody and nothing around me.....peace and quiet & isolation, I have found can have its own stress. ------------ > > , are you still on large doses of HC? I have had a heart murmer detected ever since I was very little (what does that mean in practice???).. The BEST I have felt for some time was whenI was down in California this last time, fighting in the courts, right after I quit the Armour, got on T3, took some Angioprim to clear arteries, and got off steroids. Within two months afterwards though, every thing has come caving in, so it must be from fried adrenals, I am thinking. , I think I have heart failure and the steroids weakened my heart muscle even more....but now I think I am in quite pronounced adrenal stress, and can not get by without the steroids now. I have posted about this at the NTH forum as well....they think i need to be on more Armour....waiting for more responses..... somehow the message got cut off here.
