Guest guest
HI! I have loaded some pic of Luli taken about 3 wks ago. Would you please look at them and let me know if I am crazy or not. We see Cranio on Tuesday - and I wanna make sure I'm not the only one seeing what I think I'm seeing. In the 1st one I think you can really see the asymmetry where her face seems to draw to the right. Also, I know I need to take new ones - these don't show her forehead as it is now - but I think the front right has a bulge that has gotten larger. Does anyone know if this is the normal for how heads mold w/ tort? She has left tort - so the back right is flatter and front right has a bulge. I would REALLY LOVE your feedback!!!! Guest guest
Hi Jen! I took a look at your pictures and it is hard for me to tell you anything definite. Others here are much more experienced, hopefully they will have more advice. I can say, that it is obvious that she has tort!! I looked at your website the other day, too, and you can see it there in all of the pictures. Is this being treated? Plagio and tort go hand in hand. The pictures may just be at a weird angle. What you describe sounds right. On the side with the flatness there is often the buldging. It help to look at your dd in the mirror to see the asymmetry. Sounds strange, but it works. The ear is also often pushed forward on that side. This is easy to see from a bird's eye view (top down). It is helpful to get a free consultation at a banding place. We did not go to Cranial Tech, but a STARband place that also had free consults. I did the STARscan so I could have some numbers to refer to as well. (This did cost $100). It was so nice to have the opinion of someone who sees kids like this!! Turns out that even though the Cranialfacial guy said no to the banding that and it would not help, we are already seeing great progress!! Yippie! Sophie's ear offset was 13.2mm. mild is up to 6mm. Now I am so glad I pursued this even when the 'professional' said not to!! If you are concerned, then FOLLOW YOUR GUT. As a mom we just have to do what we can for our kids!!! Good luck in your decision. Don't let someone pressure or guilt you into doing something you don't think is right. If Luli needs a helmet, it is only for a short time. make the decision that is right for you! Certainly get some PT for the Tort! Good luck and post more pics if you want. We can always remove them if there are lots!! - Boise, Idaho Sophie - 10 months - STAR helmet 3/15/06 > > HI! I have loaded some pic of Luli taken about 3 wks ago.
