Hi,

Be careful with some of the recommendations in Gittleman's book. In

particular, take Alpha Lipoic Acid only according to Andy's protocol

and take N Acetyl Cysteine only if you have a low serum or plasma

cysteine level and even then cautiously. Also, her suggestion to take

ALA to REDUCE copper is weird.

I have had high hair copper for at least 4 years (76 to 140 on the DDI

test). I don't recognize any of those symptoms in myself except

fatigue and mild insomnia. I think the thing that was most useful to

me in reading that book was that high copper can be a result of leaky

gut. That might be my problem.

According to ann gittleman there can be hidden copper if your hair

test is low. Sort of like mercury.

Sorry I have no clue. My daughter and I got our first hair tests 4

years ago and have always had high copper. Andy recommends against

retesting your hair unless you are monitoring copper, so most people

don't retest and so don't report whether copper is increasing.
