Guest guest
Pamela, I have endometriosis, and for many years I assumed some of my fibro symptoms (especially IBS, which I had when I was younger) was from the endo. Now, I think much of my " endo " pain was fibro. (I was diagnosed per laparoscopy with endo 15 years ago, when I was 20, and just this summer diagnosed with fibro. I had both since my early teens.) Perhaps they originate from the same underlying condition - they are both an accumulation of stuff that is where it shouldn't be! --Jane Endometriosis One of the things that I have been going to a specialist is the possibility of having Endometriosis. I have pain and extremely painful periods etc... The next step is Laproscopy exploratory surgery. I was wondering if any of you have had pain like this and if the pain was actually caused by fms or trigger points, rather than endo. I think it is possible that it is muscular pain and have thought that maybe this is now explained by fms. Sincerely, Pamela Rauch

I've had two laproscopic surgeries for it so far. None of my endo pain felt like fibro pain, but I did have pain in my pelvic area that I thought was endo. I wasn't even aware that I had been complaining of pain in that area until dh told the doctor. I thought he was crazy, but when they checked, it turned out that I had two hernias. I didn't have any clue that I might have had a hernia, let alone two of them. They, of course, had nothing to do with period pain, just pain that I had attributed to endo. Guest guest
Pamela, A c-section could make endometriosis worse, as could any abdominal surgery. The theory is that the extra scar tissue gives the endo cells another place to cling to. Was that what you meant? I also believe that endo can make pregnancy much more painful. I always know when I'm pregnant because I get pms-like cramping, but then my period never comes.. the cramping just continues, and continues throughout the pregnancy. Tons of abdominal pain and difficulty in labor, too. --Jane > > > > One of the things that I have been going to a specialist is the possibility of having Endometriosis. Guest guest
This is what I was asking. I didn't have " more " pain during pregnancy that felt like endometriosis and in fact this pain has only really gotten bad in the past year (from when I was in highschool, which was very painful). I guess on time lines this doesn't make sense since you don't know me. I am almost 30 (urgh, did I just write that?) and my children are 5 and 2 1\2. So, this pain was there throughout highschool, and then started up again after I was done having kids and done being on birth control. Guest guest
That definitely sounds like it could be endometriosis. The lesions stop growing during pregnancy and while on birth control pills - in fact, both pregnancy and birth control pills have been prescribed to help handle endometriosis. --Jane > > > > > > One of the things that I have been going to a specialist is the > possibility of having Endometriosis. Guest guest
Yes, I had pain like this, and they thought it was endometriosis, but when we finally did my hysterectomy, we found out that my uterus had adhered itself to my abdominal wall, and every time it moved or had a spasm, so did my uterus. Consequentially, my pain only became more severe with time, until I was nearly passing out from the pain. I was sure glad they took care of that one!
