Hello!

> 1. How long before the feeling came back in your gums?

A few months. Still numb in lower lip at 5 months postop, but lots

of tinglies.

Could use toothpaste with a baby toothbrush a few days postop. The

electric toothbrush was tricky, as I had much tooth and gum

sensitivity for quite some time. It was about 4 months postop before

I could use an electric toothbrush.

At 5 months postop, I still cannot open as much as before. It takes

time and exercises. I could chew most foods at about 4 months

postop. Couldn't tackle really truly solid things, like nuts, until

5 months postop and that still doesn't feel quite natural yet.

I'm 40, married a long time and have a toddler. Not much kissing

going on around here :) But whether you are kissing a mate, or

smooching a toddler, kissing still isn't quite right. Bottom lip

numbness makes it pretty awful. It's hard to explain how when I

smooch my son goodnight, I only feel 1/2 of it ... the upper lip, not

the bottom. Weird but slowwwwwlllllly getting better.

You are quite welcome!
