Hi ,

I am so sorry for that person's rude reply! I've banned him/her and

deleted the post from the board. We don't tolerate that kind of thing.

He/she was too much of a coward to even sign his/her name. I really am

sorry.

It's ok and thank you!

When I inquired I was told $1600-$2000. I really can't tell you if

this includes the many adjustments that may be necessary. I'm sure

someone in this group with more experience can help. I'm sure you will

also find that most insurances don't cover " durable medical devices " .

I was told my insurance would give us like a 15% discount if we went

with one of their providers...big whoop really!!! We were told that we

would need to begin the appeal process. You will find tons of info in

the file section to help support the appeal process if/when necessary

and even though it's a battle sounds like many people have won this

process. Good Luck.

Don't know what happened to my post...sorry! Anyways, when we

inquired about helmets we were told $1600-$2000. I can't tell you if

this includes the adjustments that may be necessary. I'm sure

someone with more experience can answer. There is an appeal process

you may need to begin with your insurance company, as many don't or

say they don't cover " durable medical devices. "

Cranial Technology's DOC Band costs $3,000. $2700 if you pay it in one

lump sum, but they do offer payment plans. Insurance companies vary a

lot. A slim few say yes without a fight. We had Blue Cross Federal

Employee program and they covered the band as an out of network

benefit. There was no in-network option so we're appealing.

Cranial Tech's fee includes measurements, casting, the band (helmet)

and all adjustments for the duration of one band. Really no additional

or hidden costs.

My Daughter had a Hanger Cranial Band. The cost of the band was

$2500. Our Insurance did approve it (though this isn't always the

case... you'll want to check with your Ins). The Insurance approved

$2100 and paid Hanger all but $127, which was our responsibility (co-

pay). Sometimes people do have to fight the Insurance to pay for it,

but they often win. I'm sure that many members on here will give you

appeal tips if that situation arrises.

My first son it was I think $2100 including all adjustments/fittings

but not the physical therapy he needed in addition (local helmet). my

2nd son I think the price I read when I signed the paperwork at a

different clinic for a starBand was $1750 including all adjustments.

In both cases my insurance paid 90/10 after copays/deductibles and

getting a referral from my in-network ped. I have Patient

Choice/Wausau Benefits.
