But most of the time i end up throwing a little bit of it up. Does this sound right? How am i ever going to get all my protein in? Any ideas does this happen alot? Guest guest
WOW Peabody Pam I have been out of the loop for a long time. You are already post op???!!!! WOW. Last i remember you saw my profile on obesity help and emailed me cause we live so close to eachother...now look at ya! You a big LOSER!!! lol. I vomitted like that in the beginning too. Now being 5 months out I would love to be able to get sick so easy. I mean before I just thought of it and it happened, now im not so lucky...geeze. never happy. Anyways it feels like its been forever since i was were you are, time seems to be passing so slow...even slower tan before i had surgery. i guess its the anticipation of losing all of the weight. Im down to just about 76lbs. now. Its never enough. I guess im averaging about 3 lbs a week now. I hear thats a good healthy rate. I would love the days when I would lose 5lbs in 1 DAY!!! what a dream! Well Im glad to see you starting soft foods soon and I wouldnt worry too much about the vomiting unless its everytime. just make sure you eat slow and rest inbetween bites. at 3 weeks out i was lucky to get in 12 oz of water and a couple tablespoons of cottage cheese. I would love to be back there. Im kind of freaking out that i can now eat 3/4 of a sandwich. Your pouch is still very swollen and really cant take much of anything yet. But time will change that. Keep on drinking, milk helped me get my protein in early and even still today. skim milk has 8-9 grams of protein for 1 cup, so what i did was drink milk primaraly instead of water just because i was worried about the side effects of not getting in enough protein. i DID NOT WANT TO LOSE ANY HAIR!!! So thats what worked for me and i found drinking the milk instead of trying to eat a scrambled egg was much easier on my tummy too. Keep up the good work... > hi guys, > i'm just over 3 weeks post op and i can start having soft foods, I > can only eat about 1 ounce. But most of the time i end up throwing a > little bit of it up. Guest guest
I know EXACTLY what that is . I can remember eating just a bite to many and all of a sudden my throat would get a filmy slimy feeling and then i would get sick. I didnt know there was a name for it. Sometimes even now (rarely) I get this filmy feeling in my throat. I makes me gag and then I vomit, but it usually is nothing more than that clear stuff comes up. My goodness I am very graphic today.. Sorry for that. Ive learned that when I get that feeling if I keep swallowing, it subsides. Thanks for putting a name to it Pam. jennifer > One of my online friends who had her surgery at lahey, said its frothing, > were the mucas rises from the stomach once the food is in there, she said its > pretty common, and to drink some warm tea to settle it. Guest guest
Hi all. here. As a pre-op I am taking all of this " vomiting " conversation is stride. Nothing I am really looking forward to, by any means. My question: what do you do if you have to vomit in public? I just worry about being at work or in a social situation and having the " feeling " . Do you just carry around a special little barf bag in your purse? Sorry to be so crude, but you just never read about the practical part of dealing with the side effects of surgery. r2e2d2@... wrote: > I know EXACTLY what that is . Guest guest
, Everyone doesn't vomit. You just don't know if you will be the one. SO I guess be prepared if it means carrying a little barf bag. That made me laugh. I have been one of the lucky ones. I am 1 month post op and haven't vomited. When is your surgery and where? Guest guest
Kim, I mix my tuna with a little pickle juice so I use very little mayo. It gives a pretty good flavor and low fat ......might be worth a try Cheryl Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
