Guest guest
Thanks, ! It sounds like you had a rough time with Aidan, my goodness! What a relief his hematoma went down quickly. Jillian’s little Indiana initially had a tough time with his bilirubin, which went up as high as 18. Fortunately, it’s now down to 8, with no further need to retest. The whites of his eyes are finally clear, and his skin is a nice, healthy pink color. Jim was diligent about minimizing his sun exposure during my time away, but from the look of things around this house upon my return, yikes, it didn’t appear he did much grocery shopping or housework in my domestic goddess absence, lol. Tonight we finally get to enjoy clean sheets, if you know what I mean, haha. He always chooses the most random, out of the blue, unexpected honeydos – this time, he built some storage areas up in the rafters of our garage. His car’s radiator went kablooey, so he replaced that. He also splurged on another testosterone toy, aka a cement mixer. We tore out a termite-infested, splintery, death trap of a backyard decking area, and in its place we’re pouring sections of concrete, surrounded by used brick… a couple sections each week That task was something Jim tended to do after work, when the sun had set. We have tons more sections to pour, and we’re by no means near finished with the task, but seeing his progress thus far was awesome. That man sure does like to putter! Another shock upon my return home was how tall the choking weeds have grown, as well as the state of this year’s attempt at gardening – tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, lettuce, strawberries, snap peas, various herbs. Varmints chomped all the broccoli leaves, but we were happy to share those… Jim had already harvested the broccoli. What really kept him busy was fighting a losing battle regarding all the lettuce, strawberries and peas, which all seemed to disappear before he could harvest our (small) crops. So many things to get caught up with around here, egads! Tomorrow I hope to put up some freezer jam – strawberry and peach… we’ve run completely out. Love, Maureen
