I see the softening starting too. Isn't it amazing what these bands can

do. I hope it continues like this for you.

Hi ,

Just read your post. Just thought that I would share my story. My son

Jaymin is now 8 months and has had the helmet for 1 month, also from

Sick Kids. Our orthotist is . Anyways, we were told that his

flatness was moderate to severe. He's had the helmet for over one

month now and the results are amazing. EVeryone has noticed a

difference. WE are so happy with the helmet and Jaymin doesn't even

realize that it's on most of the time.

Thanks Sharon, it's great to hear from someone who is using the same product with success. We are seeing Arthur Street at the clinic. I am still very cautiosly optimistic about future results since Mark is already 1 y.o. We just hope that his head keeps growing. :) You lil' boy is such a cutie! BTW, Mark is an owner of exactly the same T-shirt and socks as Jaymin has on the picture:) Did you decorate his helmet yourself or used a professional? I don't think it's wishful thinking at all! I see a definite

improvement :)

Both my kids benefitted from a lot of correction in the first week.

Hi Sharon, I actually don't know how long Mark will have to wear his helmet for. Arthur told us that we will know that it's time to stop when there are no changes for 2 consequitive appointments. There is also an age factor. I don't think we are going to wear it past 18 months mark. Mark's plagio is mild to moderate, but because of his age it will take longer than usual to correct it. We have an appointment tomorrow and I'll ask Arthur about the timing. I used cornstarch during the first week and Mark got a rash from it. It almost disappeared since I stopped using it that's why I thought that cornstarch was the cause. We cut Mark's hair too and it helped tremendously. How long do you wear the helmet for? We susally give Mark 2-3 half an hour-40 min. breaks throughout the day. sharon_luismith <sharon_luismith@...> wrote: Hi Val,I've actually taken Jaymin out lots with the helmet, but try to avoid it if possible. People have asked us questions like 'is it used for protection', or 'is he wearing it because it's cold outside?' or some people think that it's just merely for decoration. He actually had some bad eczema for a bit and believe it or not, i loved the helmet on him because it prevented him from stratching and his skin did get better. Imagine that!!!The sweating was pretty bad the first week we had the helmet on him, but, he also had a lot of hair. So, we cut his hair and it cut the sweating by 75%. Another mother whose daughter is in the helmet suggested using cornstarch on the helmet before putting it on, apparently it helps to slide it on and off. I haven't tried that yet.We see our orthotist once a month, his next checkup is Jan.26th, 2006. I think that they're great at sick kids,

and our insurance covered the helmet by 80% so that was a bonus. How long does Mark have to wear the helmet for?Sharon> > > >> >
