Guest guest
Jill, I was only on Prednisone for a very short while (like a month) so I didn't get that. I hope it gets better for you.
Guest guest
Jill what pred dose are you on again? I can't remember... I had a lot of swelling under my chin and in my neck area on doses higher than 15mg. I was at the point, for a while, where I couldn't look straight up due to the swelling on the back side of my neck. Under my chin was so swollen I looked like I had a double chin for the first time in my life and it made sleeping uncomfortable due to feeling " choked " when I laid down. The swelling, for me, started coming down quickly when I hit 15mg and now that I've been on 10mg for almost a month the swelling is almost completely gone. It feels good to be able to hold a pillow under my chin again to put a pillow case on....I hadn't been able to do that for months! When you look down you feel a lot of pressure in your throat due to the swelling and it does feel like your throat is closing up. I had quite a few instances where I would swallow funny due to the swelling and then gag on what I was eating. It does go away as your dose is reduced. Hang in there! Amy I constantly feel like I have a " lump " in my throat > Okay, I have been feeling all swollen around my mouth/neck area. I > went to my GP a few weeks ago because of it and he said my glands > did seem swollen but he didn't want to put me on anything because of > all my other medications. Then last week I went to my Nephrologist > and told him about the feeling of a lump in my throat/neck swelling > and he said it was all from the Prednisone. Its like under my > chin/neck gets really swollen and it drives me nuts. I keep > expecting my throat to close or something because it feels so > puffy. Anyone else have this on Prednisone? Guest guest
Hi Jill, I've not had any swelling in my neck area, but I have noticed (sadly) that the lower part of my face, especially my chin and month and especially my lips is a little swollen most of the day. But I haven't felt my throat closing or anything like that. That must be so annoying! I hope that your doctors might be able to find a way to treat that symptom for you. Guest guest
Thanks Amy, I am on 40mg of Prednisone, so I guess, thanks to your post and the Neph it REALLY is from the Prednisone. I will be so happy when I am completely off of this stuff. > Jill what pred dose are you on again?
