Guest guest
, Thanks for the link to the information. I do understand that it may cause skin irration. But it doesn't touch her skin and I am assuming that it all gets soaked into the band within the hour that it is off of her head and drying. If it should cause ANY skin irration at all then I wouldn't use it anymore. I just don't know what I would do about the smell then because I have to use the Aveeno baby wash for her itchy little head so then I couldn't use the Loreal kid's shampoo. If you have any other suggestions for the smell I would gladly appreciate them because then I would stop using the Febreze. I just don't know what to do because her head does get itchy and the Aveeno baby wash really helps with that. Thanks Isabelle 7mos STARband 1/31/06 > > > > I just wanted to say that I am the one who uses the Febreze on my > > daughter's band. My ortho said it was ok to use if the band started to > > smell. Guest guest
Hi , I loved the Aveeno while was banded. It helped sooo much. I would just worry about her breathing the Febreeze in. All I did w/'s band was scrub it with a soft bristle tooth brush with 99% rubbing alcohol. I always dried it under a fan. Only in the beginning did it smell. Once I started really scrubbing it and putting it under the fan, the smell pretty much went away. > > > > > > I just wanted to say that I am the one who uses the Febreze on > my > > > daughter's band. Guest guest
Hi , I do use a soft bristle tooth brush to scrub her band. Isabelle is not in the same room as me when I am cleaning her band. I do only use 91% rubbing alcohol though. I guess honestly I started using the Febreze a couple days after she started wearing the band because it started to smell and I just have assumed that it would still smell so I haven't stopped using it. Now I will try to stop using it to see if it still has an odor. Thanks for the information and the concern. BTW I really love that name . Guest guest
Hi , It really fits her too. lol She was days old before she was named. We wanted to make sure it fit her personality. We tossed around Isabella for a bit. It didn't fit her though. Our last baby, I let hubby name her. He goofed BIG time! lol He named her Alisia. Very pretty name, but it doesn't fit her at all. She's a big, milk white, chubby, blue eyed, strawberry blonde haired, Irish all the way looking baby! hahaah We all call her Jubie, she thinks her name is Jubie. Isn't that terrible? I just can't call her Alisia. She doesn't even know who Alisia is. We're going to have to start using her name or she's going to be one confused kid when she starts school. They sell 99% rubbing alcohol, I used that instead of the 91%. -- In Plagiocephaly , " " <fanofleesa@...> wrote: > > Hi , > > I do use a soft bristle tooth brush to scrub her band. Guest guest
Our orthotist recommended using a paste of baking soda and water to scrub, then clean again with alcohol. My first attempt at it removed all that funky smell although there seems to be a residue of baking soda which cannot be seen since it's the same colour as the inside of the band. There's been smears of baking soda on the boy's head ... > > > > Hi , > > Check out this link: > > > > > http://www.pgbrands.com/pages/cleaners/msds/Febreze.pdf;jsessionid=SN > GWJDWKQI1OH\ > > QFIAJ1U2UQ > > > > > > --- In Plagiocephaly , " " <fanofleesa@> wrote: > > > > > > I just wanted to say that I am the one who uses the Febreze on > my > > > daughter's band.
