Guest guest
That is something that I have never noticed. My dad always used to make me take it, but I felt that it always made me feel ucky, so I never do anymore. I wonder why it would affect people with autoimmune diseases....hhmmmm? > > I noticed that someone posted that they were taking Echinacea. Guest guest
People with autoimmune diseases have an overactive immune system. That is why they shouldn't take immune boosters like echinacea. Yahoo! Photos – Showcase holiday pictures in hardcover Photo Books. You design it and we’ll bind it! Guest guest
Celiacs should not have any problem with echinacea, as far as I know. My Mom the vitamin research guru always gave it to me, so I would think that it is fine. It is a strong herb, so i would recommend not taking it on an empty stomach, and to dilute it with water. I've felt a bit icky from drinking too much emergen-c at once, too, so I try not to have it on an empty stomach and dilute it quite well. > > That is something that I have never noticed. Guest guest
Echinacea is supposed to boost your immune system. People with autoimmune diseases already have their immune systems in " hyperdrive, " and therefore would not want to further boost it. (Because your symptoms would worsen.) Many drugs for those of us with autoimmune diseases try to inhibit/limit your immune system. If you are a Celiac on a GF diet, I would think it would be fine, because your immune system should not be in hyperdrive any longer. (But I am NOT a Dr.) Maybe a pharmacist or naturopath could better answer the ? for you. Suzie Re: Echinacea That is something that I have never noticed.
