As Arne mentioned, a filter pump is the best way to go about purifying

water on camping/canoe trips. I always bring mine with me so I can be

sure the water is safe. Prior to my transplant I used to drink right

out of the lakes, if they were big lakes, but not out of rivers or

streams. I was never sick then or since due to contaminated water.

We're going canoeing tomorrow and we usually bring two filters pumps

with us so we can have lots of clean drinkable water for our group.

Caroline and I just returned from the Canadian Tx Games in Edmonton. It

was a great experience, really well run. I managed win both singles and

doubles tennis gold medals and missed a medal in golf by one stroke.

The next World Games are in Bangkok, Thailand. We're going to bring our

filter pumps with us to the Games there just in case.
