Guest guest
just wanted to tell everyone not to give up your fight against insurance companies. we were denied coverage for our 2nd band - first one was covered 100%. we appealled - they denied - in california you are only allowed one appeal so we did an independent medical review (imr)and filed for arbitration. they ended up settling with us before arbitration even happened and a few days later we received news that the imr had reversed their decision to deny coverage as well - so we won on both fronts!!!! just thought some families could use some encouragement and wanted to tell you all - never accept no from your insurance company. i have spent about a year fighting this and there were many times when i thought it was hopeless - but you have to be persistent in spite of all the run-around!!!!! good luck to anyone dealing with this - i know how hard it can be but it is worth it in the end!!! jen

Guest guest
Thanks so much for your encouragement. It motivated me to face the the appeal process instead of burying it under a pile of papers, LOL. ~ > > just wanted to tell everyone not to give up your fight against > insurance companies. we were denied coverage for our 2nd band - first > one was covered 100%. we appealled - they denied - in california you > are only allowed one appeal so we did an independent medical review > (imr)and filed for arbitration. they ended up settling with us before > arbitration even happened and a few days later we received news that > the imr had reversed their decision to deny coverage as well - so we > won on both fronts!!!! just thought some families could use some > encouragement and wanted to tell you all - never accept no from your > insurance company. i have spent about a year fighting this and there > were many times when i thought it was hopeless - but you have to be > persistent in spite of all the run-around!!!!! good luck to anyone > dealing with this - i know how hard it can be but it is worth it in > the end!!! > jen >

Guest guest
wanted to let everyone know to read the limitations of any study used when an insurance co denies you coverage. we found out from our osteopath that the study aetna quoted stated one of its limitations is that it did not continue monitoring progress of babies after one years old. our son was way over a year - and we think it might be one reason why they decided to settle b/c someone messed up and used a study they shoudln't have - or didn't read it closely themselves!!!! it felt so good to win!!!! :-) > > Thanks so much for your encouragement.
