Guest guest
Dear Dianne, Please don't hesitate to contact me for questions of any kind. I wish you all the best of luck. I am now 6 weeks out from transplant and doing really well. My son was my live donor and he is also doing well. You can't tell he had surgery except for the scar. There really are no words to express how grateful I am that he gave me a 2nd chance at life. I will be thinking of you all on December 6. Guest guest
Good luck. Though this seems like a huge sacrifice, I am a donor to my son and it did not seem like a big deal. It was what had to be done. Your sister is doing this out of love and that in the end is all we are here for. Marti rcdog2003 wrote: Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday! Our prayers are always with every member of this group. We hardly write, but are always reading and gaining information from each of you. After a summer of blood work, tests, etc...the doctors at town have told Steve that the progression of cirrohsis is continuing, labs aren't getting any better, and blockages remain, unable to be opened. They have advised Steve that his best chances are to do a living liver donor transplant at this time. We did not know that Steve's little sister had been having herself evaluated ...and she is a match! Steve says "As some of you know, there are no words that will properly express my feelings towards my little sister who is willing to put herself through this ...for me. She has always been trying to keep him out of trouble for her whole life." It is kind of funny, because in every family picture she is leaning on him and now she will also "be a part" of him. So on December 7th, 2006, we ask that you say an extra prayer for his litte sister, and Steve and our families. This will be my second chance. My "day that will live in infamy".Just as there are no words to express thanks to , we have no words that we can find to thank this group for support, strength and fast and accurate information. We are very thankful to have found you!! We love this group! We will have a caringbridge site set up within the next couple of days to keep everyone updated.Thoughts and prayers to allDianep.s. I'm sorry that Steve is ready for a transplant, but I'm so happy for you all that his sister is a match and is willing to be his live donor. I'll follow your story closely. Add my prayers to everyone else's on December 7 for a successful surgery and recovery for both Steve and . Thinking of you both! Ricky Steve's transplant > > .
