Guest guest
Okay, I can speak on this one!!! Yes, you can get pregnant while you're nursing (and I did!), however if you've learned the techniques of TCOYF, it would be unlikely and I'll tell you why. From experience, I know that once I have a baby I don't get AF for one year. So I never used birth control for that first year and never got pregnant. Once I began to get AF tho, I knew I could get pregnant. I either used b/c or took my chances (and obviously got caught once!). (I know exactly when it happened--a national talk show called The Maury Povich Show flew me out to New York to promote my book and I had no B/C and obviously no willpower!) Anyway, had I know the " signs " of impending ovulation 7 years ago, wouldn't be suggled on my lap right now! Also, my kids consumed " breastmilk-only " until 6 months old, and still nursed quite often thereafter (till they were 2 and a-half...basically almost in college!), and that makes a diufference as to when AF feels it's time to resume her visits! Stick a pacifier in the kid's mouth, or supplement too often, and here the old hag comes, like a monster out of some horror movie!! M Hey I just wanted to mention something here... many people think that when they are breast feeding that they can not get pg and they can!! You might not get AF when you breast feed but you are still very fertile. I just learned this the other day from my friend who is breast feeding and was told this by her dr and the La Leche society. I found it interesting and thought you all would too!1 lisa r T.T.F.N.
