Guest guest
Hi all, I'm scheduled for surgery tomorrow with Dr. Isaacson. After my miscarriage in December, I had a D & C because I could not deliver the placenta after 2 days in the hospital. Followed up with Dr. I on Jan. 13th, but there was still a lot of tissue in the cavity, as if I was getting ready to start my period. Dr. I was happy to see that because he felt the D & C had been 'performed gently', and he then wanted to wait until I had a period to be able to see the cavity and lining more clearly with another hysteroscopy. Well, to date I still have not had a period ... cramping, lower back pain, a little spotting, but no blood (sound familiar). I returned to him on Feb. 12th after the second episode of cramping with no blood. He did an in office hysteroscopy which revealed a good size cavity, mostly open, but in the upper left quadrant there was tissue remaining that my body won't shed naturally, perhaps because it is stuck to adhesions in that area that we couldn't see. My options were wait and see or surgery to tease out the tissue and remove any adhesions that may be there. I opted for the second choice ... I just can't wait any more for things to 'maybe' happen. My concerns/questions are: has this happened to anyone after miscarrying after AS? What was your treatment? Am I doing the right thing or risking more trauma to my already traumatized uterus? What else should Dr. I be looking for during and after surgery? What other questions should I be asking? It is so frustrating that nothing is ever black and white!! The only good thing is that my cavity didn't scar shut after the last D & C. Advice, please!? Warmly, Kim S.
