Guest guest
Hi , (Leaping to my doctor's defence) I switched to a new endocrinologist this year who seems up to date as far as I can judge, but he did profess to preferring to reduce the thyroxine in " older " thycans because of the risk it could cause/accelerate osteoporosis. The jury still seems to be out on this, and I already have osteoporosis, although there are other reasons in my case. So changing my thyroxine dose after 30-odd (quite a few odd) years would certainly be a case of " shutting the stable door... " , and I am on medication (Fosomax) for the osteoporosis itself.
