Guest guest
Hi All, I posted the " new member " yesterday. I have a recently adopted 10 month old (she is turning 10 months next week) from China. We just got back 2 weeks ago. Cranial Tech put her as moderate for the docband. Now, they called back today and said that Aetna HMO will not cover their services. However, they said that there are other places that our insurance will cover. Does anyone have Aetna HMO and who have they used? Thanks, Sherri

Guest guest
Sherri, You may want to call Aetna directly to ask them who the providers are. Then you can interview them to find out about their products and their levels of expertise with the bands. Ask for references as well as before and after pictures. Guest guest
I have Aetna POS and at first they said that there are other places in network and that CT was out of network. When I questioned Aetna about the in-network places and sent them proof of my repositioning and specialists visits, they then decided to cover it at 100%. I would appeal it. -----Original Message-----From: Plagiocephaly [mailto:Plagiocephaly ]On Behalf Of SherriSent: Friday, January 06, 2006 3:30 PMPlagiocephaly Subject: Aetna HMOHi All, I posted the "new member" yesterday.I have a recently adopted 10 month old (she is turning 10 months next week) from China. Guest guest
Hi Sherri, You can call Aetna and ask them who they will cover. Also, ask CT what their success rate with appealing Aetna is. Have you looked in our insurance database at all? That may have a parent contact with someone who had success with the same insurance. Guest guest
Sherri, If you go into the database here and look at whose insurance paid what, you can punch Aetna into the search and bring up the results. I did and there were two Aetna HMO in NJ that paid for a Doc and I think one in NY that paid for a Doc. See if any of those match your company and then go from there. Sometimes there is an email contact for the member that put the info in and they can tell you how they got coverage.
