Guest guest
Kaitlyn was banded on 12-15-05 and she hates it and I mean hates it!! She's had it for a little over 2 weeks now but had it off for a few days as she came down with RSV and a fever so her orthotist said to keep it off til the fever breaks anyways everytime I put it on her she pretty much cries the whole time, do you think maybe it's hurting her head like to much pressure? She had her first adjustment done 3 days ago on Wednesday and he did take out a little bit of foam in a few areas but it didn't help!! Do you think it's just that she flat out hates it on her head (she don't mind hats), it's hurting her or what? I didn't really think about it maybe hurting her I had just thought oh she needs time to get used to it but still after 2 weeks? How long did it take for your babies to get used to it? Another question, when did you see an improvement in your childs head? I know 2 weeks is probably to soon but her head looks a bit better, I'm not sure if it's from the helmet or the fact she is growing and her head is taking better shape/filling out more (she was a preemie 4lbs 11oz and is now 15lbs at 8 months old). I'm wondering if she really does need the helmet after all it seems like the more weight she gains and grows the better her head looks, it doesn't look so much like a parallogram now. Her right side of her head doesn't look as flat it looks more rounded, although her right forehead bone still protrudes out but that doesn't seem to be as bad as it was. What do you think I should do should I call up her orthotist and have him do a rescan and compare her head to what it was about a month ago when she first went in, should I talk to her physical therapist about it since she is the one that noticed most of this with her head, any other suggestions????
