Hi ,

Welcome to the group! You can ask your ortho if he/she knows of anyone

who paints bands. When my baby was in treatment, they had a bulletin

board and on it was info about a person that painted bands. I've also

added some info to your subject line. I'm sure if some in SD knows of

a painter they'll let you know. Let us know how you make out. I hope

you'll post pics of your banded baby.

I think Cranial Technologies had a link on their web site for a

local painter in SD... I am there as well and just got my band last

Friday. :)

Hello,

My son Garett just graduated from the starband today. We went to

scope in san diego and they recommended to not paint the band/helmet

because if they have to make adjustments the paint will get messed

up. We ordered his helmet with a design but you can get stickers at

michaels craft store. good luck.

I've never heard that before. We have many members here who have gotten

their baby's bands/helmets painted. The inside of the band is

adjusted, not the outside. I've never heard of an adjustment

ruining a paint job.

It can nick the edge if they have to make an adjustment to the

sideburns or forehead. na and Kiersten's had just a hair shaved

off - no big deal really. These types of adjustments are usually

done when they first get the band but every now and then they are

made during treatment. It's nothing major - or shouldn't be. Just

know the edge may get nicked which can then lead to the whole thing

chipping - yikes!

LOL - I guess you have to be a painter :)

Speaking of which I just painted Kiersten's. It's already chipped in like 4 places. Didn't last long but I just had to do it once before she graduated. Here are the pics ..
