Guest guest
Well, after 5 months of fretting about whether or not she needed a helmet, several doctors visits, a casting and 2 weeks of wondering how she would cope...we are doing wonderful. Considering, anyway. n took to the helmet like a fish to water. We are on hour two of wearing it (one on one off and now on again)and other than a really sweaty head, she doesn't seem to mind it one bit. Even fell asleep with it on. We need to decorate it quickly though, it looks so...medical...without decorations. Like she had surgery or something. Here's my question. It appears that my insurance (Harrington) is going to deny our claim based on the fact they don't cover " customized " things. To me, this sounds pretty fool proof as far as being able to appeal it. Has anyone experienced this and won? Since it is customized, I'm not sure how to go about arguing and recouping anything. Once again, thank you all for your support. I can't tell you how beneficial this board has been in my sanity. ~Abby and n

Guest guest
Abby- I can't help you with insurance as I am having my own battles there. We were denied b/c the helmet is not post-surgical?!? Anyway in regards to the sweating...Braden had a lot of sweating the first two days and then by day three, eventhough the helmet was on longer, he was no longer sweating. So you might see some releif there.
