Guest guest
Re: - Thyroidectomy snip>I strongly suspect nodules, and those don't magically disappear from doing herbs or anything We're going to have to disagree about this. Initially when " spots " were found on my thyroid some of them *did* disappear solely with herbal treatment. The large one that did not disappear was the papillary carcinoma. There have always been some little ones which did not disappear but were too small to biopsy - these have remained the same size, despite me never suppressing my TSH to zero or thereabouts, but now I find I have recent Hashi's. I can track the changes in the ultrasounds as I have them regularly - I do believe ultrasounds are good progress reports of what's physically going on as we can't see in there - a very worthwhile tool. Also, an fine needle aspiration biopsy is a good diagnostic tool, especially if you are considering surgery. Yes alternative medicine *is* expensive, but mostly because unlike so-called conventional medicine, there are no rebates, no financial assitance and very little recognition of these therapies. If there was more recognition, then the charlatan practitioners out there would have to be accountable. Experts who ridicule alternative therapies should remember that conventional/western medicine originated from natural remedies. snip>of the latter. If you have the stomach for it, I can send you to a site that shows actual pictures of damage from various forms of thyroid disease. I have the reality so I don't need to see the pics thanks! snip>My antibody counts were up and over 1000 and almost 2000 by the time I discovered what I have causing all of it and got some knowledge about it. My diagnostic test about 3 months ago, showed my anti-thyroid peroxidase was 1100. I don't believe in saying things can never recover. I am taking a holistic approach - a " whole of me " approach, by trying to find out what stimulated the AI reaction and resolving that in order to heal my whole self. Therefore I am using both conventional and alternative wisdom together. I am seeing a dietitian soon also. But this is *my* approach - what works for me. Your approach is what's going to work for you - I wish you all the best and trust that with your history, your doc will agree with your wishes. Donna in Oz.
