Guest guest Posted May 2, 2000 Report Share Posted May 2, 2000 okay, it's been suggested to use SD alcohol......(special denatured)..........i understand you can buy it from some chemical places on line. now i've also been told that some are denatured with nasties, so you need to clarify that. also is it illegal to ship everclear over state lines? 100 proof vodka? you mean 100% alcohol? there are alcohols out there that are close to 200 proof (100% alcohol) and that is close to the category everclear falls into. ......for example, i bought some barardi 151 ~ 151 proof, 75.5% alcohol. (divide the " proof " by 2 for alcohol content). there are vodka's that come in higher percentage alcohol content (stollies, stolly's, however you spell it), but you pay through the nose. the argument AGAINST using grain alcohol is that you do not have a license to sell alcohol from the ATF, hence the addition of " poison " to denature and remove the possibility of ingestion. whew, can i make the easiest things difficult OR WHAT??? > I live in PA & I know that I can't get it here either.
