Guest guest
Our cost is $3000 for the DOC. We have Tricare, they denied it, I am appealing. Cost includes casting, 3-D " head on a stick " , before and after photos, and all adjustment appointments and an exit mold. Good luck with who you go with. I believe you get what you pay for, I don't mean that to sound rude, just something to think about. Why is one so much less?? Is the DOC the only one FDA approved? Guest guest
Correction - I think ours was also in the range of $3000 - and as I said, mostly covered by insurance within the parameters of our policy. > > > > I am just totally curious.... > > > > Please let me know if I am out of line. Guest guest
We are in San , CA. We used Hanger facility in San Mateo (recommended by pediatrician). Insurance (UHC)is covering 90% after $300 deductible. Cost was 1800 before insurance for everything. My son has been in his helmet for a week. It is a hanger helmet. He didn't have any adjustment issues and went to 23 hours a day within 3 days because he didn't seem to mind it. It does look as though I will be taking him in for an adjustment tomorrow, though. He just finished a growth spurt and the flat side has already started moving against the helmet (he is a mild case and is only 5 1/2 months old). --- In Plagiocephaly , " therices2000 " <rices@...> wrote: > > I am just totally curious.... > > Please let me know if I am out of line. Guest guest
, Our son's DOCband cost $3750 in 2003 and our younger son is currently in a Starband that cost $2500. The insurance we had in 2003 covered 80% and the insurance we have now covered it at 90%. We live in California. Guest guest
Hi , My son Noah just got banded on 3/17. Our cost is $2900, including casting and adjustments for a STARband. Visits with the plastic surgeon are separate. As far as insurance, they WILL pay for this. I just haven't heard yet if they'll pay for it before or after I wage war with them. -Amy mother to Noah, 7 months, STARband on 3/17/06 --- In Plagiocephaly , " therices2000 " <rices@...> wrote: > > I am just totally curious.... > > Please let me know if I am out of line. Guest guest
my first son had a local band--cost of $2100 of which insurance did a 90/10 split after a $100 deductible. included all adjustments. had additional PT that was covered 90/10. That was for Minnetonka, MN (suburb of Minneapolis) my 2nd son is currently in a STARband at a cost of $1750 I believe it was. Insurance is covering 90/10 after a $300 deductible. No PT needed this time. That is for St Cloud Minnesota (north of Minneapolis about 45 minutes).

Guest guest
Our DOC Bands cost $2700 each. Would have been $3,000 but we did one-time payment thanks to credit card. Insurance reimbursed 50% for non-participating provider. Our appeal is that there was no participating provider but I do not have high hopes that we will win based on others' experiences on this board. I've heard some insurances pay 100%, some $0. It's seems like a form of Russian roulette. ~ Liliana graduating April 3rd! > > I am just totally curious.... > > Please let me know if I am out of line. Guest guest
The cost for my son's local passive helmet (PPO helmet) was normally $2100 including adjustments, but we only ended up paying $340 (20% of the in-network cost of $1700).
