Guest guest
Sulfacet is also the only thing I have used that works (I tried just metrogel and antibiotics) I am still on antibiotics, but less than before with no change (I am weaning myself off them). Sulfacet has kept my face almost completely clear for a few months now. When I have a flare (like I did a few days ago, from playing ultimate frisbee), I still see the beginnings of two bumps, but after applying sulfacet for a day (more often just on the bumps) they went away, and never really became that visible to others anyway. My face is definitely drier than usual because of it, but I just use moisturizer and it is fine. Using sulfacet in combination with a zinc moisturizer is really good (I used to use Basis face the day, but since it is discontinued, I use Purpose Dual moisture and sunscreen) When my face is really dry, I use a non oil-free moisturizer. I was terribly depressed back in June (when I was diagnosed) I looked and felt terrible. A few months of metrogel didn't do too much, though my face responded a bit. But then I asked to be given sulfacet (I like the untinted kind) and within a week my face was clearer than it ever has been. No one would guess that I have rosacea now, unless I have a few drinks > I was just wondering how many people used sulfacet? It is the only thing > that helps me at all. Guest guest
Hi, I've seen a few references to sulfacet - what is it? drug, topical. It sounds definitely worth a try? Robin B.
Guest guest
Matija, Sulfacet contains sulfacetamide & sulfur. Both active ingredients are antibacterial but sulfur is also keratolytic, meaning it has the ability to desquamate the skin. Perhaps, the dryness you perceived, is skin that is exfoliating. Guest guest
Matija: my Dr. gives me sulfacetamide for my face, only for the areas with rosacea, specially for the keratolytic accion. It makes that my skin get very dry, but helps the pastules and skars go away. If the effects are very strong, I must suspend the aplication and continue with the Noritate in the morning and in the night. I use the sulfacetamide only in the nights.- Regards, María a > >To: <rosacea-supportegroups>, " matija " >Subject: Re: Re: sulfacet >Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2000 23:34:18 -0800 > >Matija, >Sulfacet contains sulfacetamide & sulfur.
